CLAIMS BOARD.
CARE OF R_T__N_D SOLDIERS. AN APPRECIATED FACILITY. The Claims Board of the Auckland r'atriotic Association met yesteraay afternoon. Mr. J. H. Gunson presiding. In view of the fact that the Government has taken over the workshop at the Domain Annexe, it was decided to relieve the Joint Red Cross Committee of its obligations. Arrangements were made for the provision of a billiard table and other recreative articles at the annexe. Mes.re. Phelan and A. G. Mo_were appointed to take charge of this department. The board requested Mr. Wesley Spragg to take the supervision of the motor-service initiated three weeks ago between the Svmonds Street end of Grafton Brid°-e, and the annexe for the use of sick and wounded soldier?. The car, in charge 1 of a returned chauffeur, engaged is to be constantly on the road and available for the use of .soldiers. p_rticular'y those unable ti get about with ease. __> far the car nas covered 60 miles daily between the locality points stated, nnd the soldiers highly appreciate t.i" service.
