FATALITY IN THE CITY.
» E_«OC_—_> DOwS BY A OAT?T A Chinese market gardener named Ewok Lin, aged 29 years, residing at Mangere, died yesterday afternoon in a chemist's shop as the result of injuria; received through being k_oe_ed down by a horse and cart. Decs—sed was loading empty eases in a right of way at West Street. 2CewT__, _nd it is thought that one of the cases -must have fallen, startling the horse, which commenced to bolt. Deceased in an endeavour to stop the startled animal, was knocked down. He was ir_mediate!y conveyed to an adjoinrng chemist's shop, bit his injuries -were so severe that he d:ed within a few minutes. The boree bolted along Karangahape Road, travelling along the footpath, breaking a verandah post at each end of the block, until it was brought to a standstill at East Street. An inquest regarding the circumstances of the death of the C______ Kwok Lin was held before Mr. E. C. Crrfcten, S.M_ this mornm"'. The medical evidence was to the effect that R-wok Lin's injuries consisted of broken right arm and right leg, and bruises an the head and face, and tihat death -was due to shock consequent "upon these injuries. The Coroner found, in accordance •with the medical evidence.
