OLD COLONISTS DEATH.

MR. JOHN ____v_Y. Requiem Mass was celebrated at S a_a. to-day in St. Benedict's Botna_ Catholic Cathedral for the repose of the soul of Mr. John Harney. w_o died at the residence of Mr. J. M. Foy, Mikati Street. Mount Eden, Deceased was born in Ireland, and came to New Zealand from Victoria fifty years ago to the goldfields on the West Coast. He next, followed the gold rush to Thames, and 20 years ago moved up to Atic_la_d, where he resided ever since, Mrs, Harney died about ten years ago. Mr. Harney has been a member of the Hjbernia-n Society for tite past 40 years, and members of that body attended at St. Benedict's. The funeral left the church at 2 p_o. for Waikaraka Cemetery.
