NEW ZEALANDERS PROMINENT IN THE BATTLE
FRANCE, October S. The Third and Fourth Armies renewed the attack this morning, the New Zcalandcrs taking a prominent part in the battle. The South Island Brigade is .in action on the right and the Riflo Brigade on the Ipft. Our engineers have bridged the canal at many places. y 'fanke are operating with our infantry. Tlip barrage inrlurfcd smoke shells at one stage, the attack being supported by covering fire from the Wellington and Auckland Jlachinc-gun Companies.—(Js".Z. Correspondent,)
