CIVIL CLAIMS.
BUSH FIRE DAMAGE. A civil case in the Magistrate's Court i yesterday, before Mr B. D. Hosley, S.M , was that in which Geo. Ftuch, Woodleigh (Mr Hrookflcld) sought £lt>7 19/.-, for loss nnd damage caused by negligence in controlling v bush tire, against Win. K. Chamtiers, owner of Glen Murray station, and w. Little, manager (Mr Prendcrgast). The Plaintiff said that tires lit by Little on ,I'cbruary _5 and March IS spread to plain- ! tiffs adjoining leasehold property, and burnt Tr. acres of pasture. The defence : was n denial of liability. His Worship held ] that negligence on the part of Little was established, and gave judgment for Finch for £_ and costs. I MOTOR REPAIRS. The claim for £1!) 12/:; for motor car repairs by P. Faithful and Co. (Mr Vallance) against G. Nlgro (Mr Mowlem) was completed iv the Magistrate's Court, before ;Mr E. ('. Cutten, S.M. Judgment was given for plaintiff with costs. SEPARATION FAILS. A domestic case which has been before the tourt on several occasions was settled yesterday before Mr Wvvern Wilson, S.M. who came to Auckland to preside. The complainant was Surah Hanwell (Mr E. Inderl. and the defendant Charles Hanwell (Mr A. L. Denniston). The magistrate had made an order that evidence of relatives residing at Kihikihl should be taken aL Te Awamutu. for which purpose counsel for defendant had travelled to that place. Reviewing this evidence, the magistrate said he had come to the conclusion that the , evidence of the complainant was entirely unsatisfactory, and he had refused to make an order for cither maintenance or separation.
