The ordinary sittiug of the Auckland I_u_ board .u-as held to-uay. There were present:—Messrs v. M. .sect, Commissioner of Crown I_inds icnalrmanj, J. [»• Hiiiucrlord, James Trounsou, A. It. Harris, and ,1. K. Wells. A good deal of routine business was transacted dealing with forfeitures and applications tor the fee simple of holdingsIn otic case ihe Commissioner remarked that as the uame of tt_ applicant was » foreign one. it would ouiy be granted subject to -proof that the applicant was a l'ritish subject. Mr Harris: We are all agreed upon not allowing aliens to hold land. Tbe Commissioner: The Hoard has always taken tbe responsibility of requiring proof iv such cases. Mr Rutherford: And we are determined to continue that practice. A large number of transfers and subleases were dealt with, all being in order, wlih no .--pecial features worthy of comment or imiulry. Of the forfeitures, three were at the request of the holders of tne sections, two due to abandonment, ana only one for non-compliance with conditions. I'roposals were approved for the expenditure of thirds aud fourths as follows:— Kawhla •County, £_2_ lo. ■; Otonga Boa" Board. 2/S; Kirikiriroa B„a Board, £4 6/»: and Hokinnga Comity, £U.">S 8-. Titnbc. floating liceuses were aranted as follows: - D. li. Dvsart, llerekino Kiver: H-_™ Anderson, Wnlroa: b.d'il. Timber on.. To Mata; N.Z. Railway Department, An»whata and Tina. Only eight applications were made fa. a_w __Uobs.
