LUSITANIA DAMAGES.

GERMANY MUST PAY. NEW YORK, August 27. A Judge of the United States Court has refused to compel the Cunard Line to pay damages in suits in which the claims aggregate between £1,600,000 and £2,000,000 in connection with the sinking of the Lusitania. The Court decided that Germany must pay the damages, and that Britain and America would enforce payment in the future. The decision affects more than 40 suite. Captain Turner was exonerated of all blame. The Judge declared that the evidence showed there were no explosives on board the Lusitania. — (A. and N.Z.) SEVEN DTTTCH VICTIMS. AMSTERDAM, August 27. German submarines sunk seven Dutch luggers off Ymuiden, on the Dutch coast, west of Amsterdam. — (Reuter.)
