The three German bells supposed te have been cast from French cannon taken at Sedan in 1870 were melted down to-day by the instructions of the Government. The ingots are being stored for shipment to France. • The three bells weighed just short of IScwt, and examination by experts showed they were made of bell metal, not gun metal.
