Bridges, a member of the club, who returned recently, invalided, after serving for some time on the Ypres front. I»uring ail iDterval the president of tbe club. Mr J. S. Palmer, extended to the guest ttt the evening a very hearty welcome home, congratulated him on his recovery, and also referred to the fact that several other members of the _lub were still away doing their bit for the Empire. Mr Bridges, in a neat little speech, thanked those present for their kind wel- l come, and, in doing so. referred to tbe many pleasant games he bad had on the Victoria green. Cheers were then given for Mr Bridges, after which dancing was indulged in. Supper was dispensed by the ladies* committee, and a very pleasant evening closed with the National Anthem.'. I
