ALLEGED THEFT.

COMPANY OFFICIAL ARRESTED. A somewhat sensational arrest was made on Saturday afternoon, when Thos. Arthur Kemp, farmer, and formerly assistant manager of the Farmers' Union Trading Company, was apprehended by Detective Cuinings on the charge that on April 23, 1918, he did steal grass-seed to the vahio of £149 11/4, the property of the Farmers' Union Trading Company. Accused, ■who has a farm at Patumahoe, near Pukekoho, came before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., this morning, and was remanded for a week, bail being allowed in his own recognisance of £30fl and two sureties of £150 each.
