TURKISH ATTACKS ON JORDAN CROSSINGS.

ANZACS RESTORE POSITION AND TAKE PRISONERS. (Received 11.15 ajn.) LONDON, July 15. Turkish troops attacked the Jordan crossings on the Aba Tellul Ridges, north of Jericho, and at first penetrated onr lines. The position was restored by a connter-attack delivered by the Australians and New Zealanders, who won back the whole of the river crossings and bridgeheads, and took 800 prisoners.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.) The High Commissioner's report on this operation gives the number of prisoners at 400, of whom 260 were Germans.
