£99,000 FOR PAST SIX MONTHS. ; INCREASE OF £21,000 OVER LAKE . ! YEAR, FALLING OFF IN SHIPPING • RECEIPTS. At this afternoon's meeting of the \. Auckland Harbour Board the chairman, : ; ■Mr H. D. Heather, announced that the y .'revenue of the Board from all sources J for the six months ended June 30 ; I amounted to £99,021 16/, of which j £96,557 0/7 was from the Waitemata :> ! I Harbour and £2464 15/5 from the y. i Manukau. "This," said Mr Heather, ' i "shows an increase over the correspond- > ■ ing period of last year of £21,190 8/1, the ! increase being due to the receipt of £9400 , lon account of the rjs. Port Hacking, ot . j which £1000 -was afterwards refunded, j arid £13,595 14/8 from the Harbour Improvement Bate. As predicted at the beginning of the year, the receipts from I shipping have shown a falling off, the amounts being:—Pilotage, £1725; port charges, £1252; and shipping wharfage, £322. In view of probable further de- ' creases it .behoves the Board to consider carefully every demand for expenditure, and to exercise the utmost economy. *
