ARTILLERY ACTIVE ON FLANDERS FRONT
SUCCESSFUL FRENCH ACTION SOUTH OJ THE . AISNE. (Received 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, July 14. .-'Sir, Douglas Haig reports:—Hostile artillery is active north of Albert, -westward of Kemmel Hill, and southward and south-westward of Ypres. Onr guns are active at a number of points. / A French communique reports^—A successful action north and south of Longpont, east of Tillers Cotterets Forest, advanced our positions eastward. We crossed the Savieres, a tributary of the Ourcq, despite enemy resistance. A wireless German official message admits that the French obtained possession of Castel and Auchm Farm. The Germans claim to have shot dorm , 4£B hostile aeroplanes in June,- and that they lost 153.—(A. and N.Z. and Renter.)
