LONDON, July 12. The Treasury lias approved of the amalgamation of Barclay and Co.'b bank with the London and Provincial a.nd London and South Western banks. The Secretary of State for Home Affairs (Sir George Cave), speaking in the House of Commons, announced that the Government was applying in the courts for the immediate winding-up of enemy banks.
