MILITARY APPEAL BOARD.
o BOARD AT HAMILTON. Appeals against military service were heard at Hamilton yesterday as follows:— Exemption sine die were granted to .George L. I.earty, engineer, Horotiu; John Thomas Grimsby, farmer, Waiterimu; James Anthony Graham. carpenter. Huntly; Joseph M. Brownlte. coal miner; Thomas Barr. mine deputy. Pukemiro; 3. It. Hicks, deputy, and William Mabir., miner. Pukemlro; Robert Patterson, machine worker. Mr. .Bishop, Huntly, appeared in support of the following appeals, in each of which sine die exemption was granted:— G. Broklebank. George Brown, Francis J. Blackburn. Robert Boyd, Arthur Curwin, William Connor. John Fisher, Thomas G. Hughes, David James (four brothers at the front!, James W. Leonard. Job Makinson. Charles S. Morris, John Mclntyre, Thomas McQuillani (three brothers serving), George Peel, James Watson. Thomas Wright. Robert Wilson, Leonard Weaver,. Joseph Weaver. John W. Young; John Russell Kerr, clerk, Huntly. Mr Thompson, manager Waipa Coal Company, appeared in support of the following miners' appeals:^—Alfred W. Catchpole and Hngh Russell, of Glen Murray: Both men granted exemption sine die. The appeal of Louis Foster was dismissed, ami that of Edwin Foster adjourned for two months. Appeals by the following were dismissed: Joseph D. Peart, farmer, Okete. Extension of time was granted to Alfred A. Le Heron, farmer, Te Hoe: C. W. Newell. farmer. Te Kowhal: . Henry Thomas Nicholls, gardener. Hamilton. James Miller, bootmaker, Ngaruawahia. and Charles Meredith also withdrew their appeals. • A number of appeals were adjourned.
