(From Our Own Correspondent.) THAMES, 'Wednesday. A conference was held yesterday evening between representatives of the Harbour Board, Borough and County Councils, ana Chamber of Commerce, to consider the question of harbour improvements. The conference resulted in the passing of a resolution to have a detailed report" of the suggested improvements unci their cost drawn up and siibmftted to a future meeting. The idea before the conference was to provide a. harbour capable of accommodating ocean-going snips, which would cope here to load tils produce of the district. An advisory boara was also set up to confer with the Harbour Board on the question. The County Council to-day resolved to initiate a policy of constructing its bridges in ferroconcrete.
