Eden, was proved to toe under military age, while Albert Anderson (Mr. Coates) showed that he 'belonged to C Class of the Second Division. The application of Chas. A. Christini, Onehunga. was adjourned. The adjourned appeal of Francis C. Hood, Mount Eden (Mr. Mowlem) was j further adjourned to allow appellant, j who has five brothers on service from j England, to be medically re-examined. j Sydney Weston, of Devonport, proved that he was a member of D Class, Second Division. William E. Hayes, furniture dealer, Karangahape Road (Mr. Hall Skelton), was allowed extension of leave till 15th August to arrange his business affairs. REFUSED NON-COMBATANT WORK. The appea.l of James Vallance (CI), ot Mt. Roskill, who previously based hi 3 plea for exemption on the ground that he was a minister of the Gospel, was continued. Appellant said he belonged to the Testimony of Jesus, but was not able to sufficiently justify his plea. The appeal was dismissed, and leave till June 20 granted. Appellant refused non-combatant work on religious scruples, and said he would take the consequences. Israel J. Goldstein (CI), law clerk, applied for leave to sit for his -law examination on November 7. The Board elicited that the University term and lectures concluded on August 10, and considered that if leave was given till August 29, appellant could go to camp and study and get leave to sit for the examination. GIRLS' BEST TONIC. Most growing girls require a tonic. Wilson's Malt Extract adequately meets the need, since it stimulates and upbuilds, without any reaction. Made from pure malted barley only, it is a food tonic which prevents anaemia and "run-down." The blood is enriched, the appetite improved, I and the food more easily assimilated. Give your girls a course of it. Chemists and stores. —Wholesale from all merchants or ■Mr C. H. Hooper, 53 and 54, Brunswick Buildings, Queen Street, Auckland. Phone A£2S<3,—(Ad-i
