EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.
FIGURES FOB SEVENTH WEEK, The seventh week of the second eggmyins competition under the control of tiie Auckland Poultry-keepers' Assocition ended on Saturday. There was an Improvement In the number of eggs laid from the 47 pens, and more pens are settling down to wort. A nnmher of birds are in full moult, while others that were suffering from slight colds are recovering. The number of eggs laid for the week was Bin), making the grand total 2237. The ducks have been unsettled for a long time,, owing to various causes, and big scores cannot be expected. Honses have been provided for the next dnck •competition; these have been baaiy needed.
