Juliu has Etartcd a oiuuthiy periodical, "The ttriUsh lTisoner ot War," for the purpose of recording Its activities. The iouixh number, a copy of -which has reached the "Star," contains notes on recent amendments to the rules governing dispatclj of parcels to prisoners, uud a number of acknowledgments of food, clothing, and medical comforts from Lhi- senior lirfush officers In various prison camps in liermany and Turkey. There Is an Illustrated article on the industrial classes tor British soldlera interned in Switzerland. In these daetfes the men axe taught motor repairing, piano woodwork, general carpentry, French polishing, and leather work. AnoUier article describes the committee's parcel departmeut, which packs food regularly for 17,001) men and clothing for 3300 man belonging to twenty-nine different regiments. Lists of goods contained In tbe four otandard parcels sent out by the department arc given. These include a great variety of tinned and other foode, with cigarettes and souj>. It may be mentioned that relatives of New Zealaud prisoners need not be directly concerned with the committee's operations, since the High Commissioner has takeu tull charge of the forwarding of parcels to New iSealand prisoners. He has issued an illustrated booklet giving complete information and showing that he has full control of the situation, and that the best course for prisoners' relatives to pursue is to deal entirely through him by means of cash remittances for the purchase of goods. Sir Thomas Mackenzie makes full use of the Central Committee's facilities, which are as complete as it Is possible to make them, and have been the means or saving untold suffering to I'.ritish soldiers In the hands of i tic enemy.
