The Rev. William Day, of Whangarei, had received an unanimous cail t-o the Kelburn Presbyterian Church. The Rev. J. W. RusselL, of Opunaki, .has accepted a call t o the Congregational Church at Mostcrton. Capt. Gerald V. Finlay, of -Mt. Albert, has been awarded special mention by Sir Douglas iiaig for conspicuous services. Mr. and Mrs. S. Darnell, of Napier, have just celebrated their diamond wedding. Mr. Carnell represented Napier in Parliament for three years. He was in the photographic business in Auckland and Kelson. He took part in the rueh to the West Coast goldtields, and eettled in Xapier in 1869. Ueut.-Col. H. 08. Deck will take charge of the King George V. Hospital for returned soldiers at Rotorua on June Ist. it Iβ understood that the charge ia only temporary, and that Colonel 1). S. YVylifi is to tie the permanent officer in charge. Meanwhile, very large additions to the hospital v.ill shortly be irtlilt. The Rev. Jasper C'alder. who for the past eleven months has been in the Wdikato for health reasons, assisted at the serviced at Ht. Matthew's Church last Saturday, owing to the illness of the vicar, the Rev. \V. E. Gillani. Mr. Calder has returned to the Waikato, but 13 expected to resume his duties as curate in St. Matthew's in about a month's time.
