The latest mail from Britain brings news of another instance of rap d military promotion aniong New Zealander3 at the front in the winning of the rank ■ of major by Captain Kobert Cooper, of Auckland, now serving with the Koyal Harrison Artillery in France. Major Looper enlisted with the R.G.A. about two years ago as second-lieutenant, and received his latest promotion on the field during the first German offensive this year. He is an old boy of the Auckland Grammar School, an ex-mem-ber of the College Kifles, and. is not yet 25 years of age.
