RAILWAYMEN'S WAGES.
BIG INCREASE IN AMERIOfI (Received 8.35 a.m.) WASHINGTON, May 27. Mr W. M. McAdoo (Federal Treasurer) has "ranted increased wages to raihra.ymen amounting to 300,000,000d0l a y«w. and also recognition of the eight-bee , day. To meet the increased railwaymen's wages. Mr McAdoo ordered 25 per cent freiglit rate increases and half a cent a mile increase in passenger fares on all railroads. This is the largest rate of increase in the history of the railroads. It is expected that it will increase in annual revenues of SOO.OOO.OOOdoIs to 900.000,000dol.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
