RETURNING SOLDIERS.
TIME OF ARRIVAL. SHIP BERTHS TO-MORROW. ' The Defence Department has intimated that the transport which was expectei to arrive at Auckland to-day will not berth until eight o'clock to-morrow morning. Next of kin will be admitted to tht; wharf enclosure at 7 a.m. None of the troops will land to-night The transport is bringing a total o< 526 of all ranks, and a complete list vL names and addresses was published ii Saturday's "Star." The Auckland draft will disembark as soon as the vessel is ■ berthed. The Southern contingent wiß leave by a special train, and the platform at the statio* , will be closed to all except those who wall actually travel by ths train. Wives of the men -will be allowed to go South with them, but those who are waiting here for their husbands trill require to obtain from the Defence Department passes to railway platfona as well as to the wharf. HOTELS OUT OF BOUNDS. AJ,L SOLDIERS IN UNIFORM. An order issued by the Defence authorities notifies that all hotels in th« I city of Auckland and vicinity will be out of bounds to all troops in uniform to , morrow. The Officer Commanding the District (Colonel G. W. S. Patterson) 1 earnestly requests that all proprietors ot hotels will assist him in this connection. It is stated in the order that civilian* supplying liquor to soldiers in uniform render themselves liable to immediate prosecution under the War Regulations. Any soldiers in uniform found in hotel -hare will be immediately arrested by the military authorities.
