THE ATTT-TMEN MEETING*. The Auckland Trotting Club's Autumn Meeting took place this afternoon, in beautiful weather, and with a large attendance. The track was in good order. Results: — IMPROVERS' TROT HANDICAP (Saddle). I of Tosovs. Distance, one and a-lialf j miles. i Mr. J. Paull's b g Gold Rod, aged, by I Nlinrod—Miss Dulse, 12yds behind 1 (owner) 1 Mr. W. Dignity 36yds, .Taylyn COyils, Kereone (10yds. | Goya was quickest to begin, but soon lost his position, and going along the back (.old Rod went to the front, followed by Waikoukou. Miss Murphy, and Favour Royal, with the others already stringing out. Waikoukou broke crossing the top. and as they passed the stand Gold Rod was the pilot, with Miss Murphy and Favour Koval as his nearest attendants, while Wnikoukou was handy. Going along tlie back Gold Rod and Miss Murphy both skipped, but were soon down again, and they were the leading pair as they entered the straight. where WaikoiLkou had got up to within Striking distance. In the run to the judge they were all hard at It when Miss Murphy mixed it, and Walkoukou broke badly. Gold Rod drawing out to win by two lengths from Miss Murphy, and .Sandy latch finished fast and just beat Walkoukou out of third money, three lengths away. Kereone and Canberra ware the next pair to finish, Mutu aud AVlld Nut being pulled up. Time (gross., 4.5. iSaudy latch was favourite. MAXGERE HANDICAP, of 7.-soys (Haruessi. due mile and a-half. Mr. Kent-Smith's b g Lord Rose. 4yrs, by Lord Elmo—Rose Child, SOvds behind (Edwards) 1 Mr. .1. Holder's gr in Te Awa. aged. ...yds behind 1.1. T. l'auli 2 Mr. A. Fleming's b g Gallantry. Syrs, 12yds behind (Fleming) .'1 Also started: Witch Hazel limit. Sabiska limit, Beausant limit. New-lands 12yds behind, Ruanui 12yds behind. Sabiska refused to strike a gait, and Beausant went to the front only to soon give way to Lord ltose, which led along the buck, followed -by Te ..m, Beausant, and Gallantry. Passing the staud Lord Rose was three lengths In front of Gallantry, with Te Awa.a couple of leugths further back, ami New-lands heading the others, which were well strung out. Going along the back Te Awa moved up, and as they crossed the top was almost on terms wll'li Gallantly, the pair nelng four leugths behind Lord Rose, the race being between the trio. In the run down the'straight Te Awa headed Gallantry, but had no chance of reaching Lord. Rose, Willi- won easily by three lengths. Gallantry was six lengths away, third, and then came Ruanui, Charming Rod. and Beausant. Time, 3.44 3-3. Gallantry was favourite. CAMPBELL HANDICAP (HARNESS) Of 30C-OV3. Two miles. Mr S. When the tapes were released Asturio and Lieutenant refused to strike a gait, whilst Strategy and Harold Devon were also slow to move. Bundura began well, showing the way along the buck, with l'ltlroa. Harold Junior, lluuii Grattan. and Waverlev racing iv that order. Passing the stand Bundura was a couple of lengths iv front of l'itiroa. with Harold Junior and lluon Grattan close up, and Waverlev. Harold Devon, and .Steel Bell racing in that order, the other trio being already out of it. Bundura was still the pilot as they went along the back, hut passing the staud the second time Pitlroa had takeu charge. Just clear of Harold Junior, with Bundura. lluon Grattan. Waverley. •Steel Bell, and Harold Devon following as named. Going along the back the lust time l'itiroa -was still making the pace, Harold Junior and lluon Grattan being handy. The last-named lost some ground crossing ihe top. and l'itiroa was a couple u'r lengths in front of Harold Junior, with lluon Grattau a couple of lengths fur. ther back as they turned for home. In the run to the judge lluon (..rattan came very fast, but, though he passed Harold Junior, could not reach l'itiroa. which won by a length and a-half. Harold Junior was three lengths away, third, and then came Waverley and Steel Bell together. Bundura. and Harold. Devon, these being the only ones to finish. Time, 4.40 3-3. Harold Devon was favourite. EASTER HANDICAP (HARNESS) of lollsovs. Two miles. The limit horses, Goodrich mid Tattles, did not go far In [he lead, and when the stand was reached Manuka Park had taken charge, just in front of Leo Bell, with I riliee Child anil Goodrich racing in that order. Going along the back the favourite lost ids position, and as they passed the stand a second time Manuka Park was showing the way, with Prince Child almost on terms, and I_en Bell. Shanghai. Tattle, aud Goodrich racing In that order. Manuka Park and Prince Child were still in close company as they raced along the hack the last time. Shanghai running up third, and improving his position to second as they crossed the top. Turning for home, there was not inn"?., lioiivwa Manuka Park .and Shanghai, but in the run to the judge Manuka Tark got the better of it, eventually winning by three {tarts of a length. Tmtles was twenty lengths away, third, with Prince child fourth. Time, 4 33. Leo Bell was favourite.
