AQUATICS.
END OF SEASON. COMBINED CRUISE. TO AWAROA BAY. The clubs nfflliated to the Anckland Yacht and Motor Boat Association will combine in a final cruise to Awaroa Bay to-morrow. The function is under the auspices and management of the Association, and the arrangements made by that body aTe Tery complete. The Manukan l'acht and Motor Boat Club members have been In--1 vlted, aud about 40 of them will represent I that club. A social and dance will be held in the evening in Gordon's 'Hall, at Awaroa. A supper will be provided, at which it Is expected there 'Will *c over 200 guest». If the weather be fine the number of cruising craft taking part will be very large. Launches, J*.take.the'.vlsltors will leave the Ferry Steps at 2 and 2.30 p.m. The races start from between the King's wharf and a mark boat moored north, and all fairway marks are to be observed, tlz., Sandspit Beacon Light, Bean Rock Light, and the, beacon off Brown's Island reef. The times of starting will bet—2oft to 22ft boats, 2.30 p.m.; 24ft and 26ft boats. 2.40 p.m.: keel yachts, 2.50 p.m., launches, 3 p.m. The live-flag system will be used, with a gun at the last flag. Time of start. 3 p.m. • Mr. Bach bus again offered his motor launch Pnslime for the purpose of conveying visitors to the entertainment to be held in the club pavilion next Tuesday evening the 17th instant. The death occurred at the Masterton hospital on Tuesday of a well-known Nireaha (Forty-mile Bush) settler in the person of Mr. Percy Roband. The deceased was ploughing, when something went amiss, the horses commenced vigorously kicking, and the unfortunate man came within rang'; of the lashing heels. He sustained frightful injuries, which resulted in death after an operation had , been performed.
