m —. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Saturday. The annual report of the State Fire Office states that the profits of the past year are greater than in any previous years of its history. £2,f100,000 has been added to the sum assured, bringing the total to nearly £22,008,000. The net surplus for the year avxs £22,601, and the net income £01,380, an increase of £8080 over the previous year. The net losses •were £27,302. For the purpose of assisting war finances the department paid over to the Government in loans and taxes £8S 4 923.
