LIBERTY LOAN.
I • THE SECOND INSTALMENT. PROSPECTUS ISSUED. The prospectus of the New Zealand issue of £9,500,000 4£ per cent war loan is published by Government advertisement in this issue. This is the balance iof the Liberty Loan of £22,000,000 : authorised during the last session of Par- , liament, and the conditions, both ir respect of stock and certificates, are the I same as for previous loans. It is ex--1 pected that the full amount will be subscribed voluntarily, but should there be any deficiency it will be made up by a compulsory levy on people who have not i subscribed a fair proportion of theii i wealth, in accordance with the Act. I £200,000 will be reserved for persons desiring to invest in securities available for payment of New Zealand deatl; duties. Applications will not be accepted j for less than £100, except that small investors may subscribe sums of one pound up to £500 for a period of five oi ten years at any postal money-ordei office.
STOCKBROKERS' APPEAL. The members oi the Auckland Stock Exchange announce that they will receive applications, on behalf of the Treasury, for debentures, inscribed stock, and war certificates without making any charge to the buyers. The brokers, in making an appeal to the public for support for the loan, state that on a population basis the least that can be expected of Auckland is to subscribe a minimum of £2,50,000. The names and addresses of brokers, from whom full information regarding the details of the loan and the various alternative ways of subscribing to it may be obtained, are published by advertisement in this issue.
