SUPREME COURT.
TWO PRISONERS SENTENCED.
- At the Supreme Court this morning, Mr. Justice Hocking sentenced two prisoners for offences to which they had pleaded "Guilty" in the lower court.
Herbert H. Ellis, aged 17, on two charges of breaking and entering, at Dargaville, was represented by Mr. Moody, who urged that the prisoner was entitled to probation. He was one of six eons who had been working a farm, but tie had run away and lost tho good effect *>f home influence. His Honor admitted .talis to probation for three years on etrict conditions suggested by the Probation Officer.
A half-caste Maori, Peter Wilson, aged 47 years (Mr. Johnston), who had pleaded "Guilty" to a charge of forgery, ■was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within two years. He was a married man with six children.
