SAFEGUARDING BRITISH INTERESTS. (Received 10.50 a.m.) LONDON, March 13. Tho Royal Geographical Society passed ' a resolution to be forwarded to Mr Balfour pointing out the importance of safeguarding British interests in Spitzbergen, and extensive deposits of steam coal. The resolution says British subjects already possess large interests there. Mr Balfour replied that the question of Spitzbergen must be discussed with several foreign Governments, but British interests will be borne in mind.— (A anil N.Z. Cable.) *
