AT MOUNT EDEN BATHS. \ A GOOD CARNIVAL. ,' The Eden Swimming Club's secaai sports were held at th_ club's "baths, Mt. Kden. last evening, when, as might ha*-_ been anticipated 'after such a warm day. competitors revelled in a chance to splasi, as much as the spectators, seated round tha baths in the balmy open-air, enjoyed the display. Some fine swimming was witnessed, and it may toe mentioned that th« baths are well appointed and laid out for racing purposes. The important item o£ the programme was the 50 Yards Championship of Auckland, in which L. Kronfeld, C Welson, and C. Farquhar started. Kronfeld swam 'with signal dash throughout, and scored a win -by five yards from Farquhar. The time recorded was 26 3-os —an nnofficlal record for New Zealand. The ladies' events were interesting, Miss Biddict winning the 50 yards race in good style from Miss Edenborough, jnn. The diving, of the ladies was a feature. Miss Smith, the winner, giving a. very faithful exposition o* the neat header. Professor D. _t. Anderson pleased with one of his ever appreciated natatorial e*_hibii tions. in which he appears to improve with . repetition.
