The British 'Red Cross League has decided to assist the Defence authorities in the matter of providing suitable ■workshops and other facilities for wounded and sick soldiers in hospitals and convalescent homes." The Auckland centre'e liability under the present proposal fira Haniner. Rotorua, and Wellington *1B estimated at about £500. Improvements to that amount- have already been made at Rotorua. At the remit'corifAfencp in "Wellington it was decided to put the Red Cross Inquiry Office at Chfistchurch for missing and wounded men, on a Dominion footing. Auckland's annual liability for out-of-pocket pxpenses under that head will be £62 10/. '
