ASSISTING COLLEGE FUNDS.
A GARDEN PARTY. A garden party arranged by Father * Caran, in aid of the Sacred Heart Col- j lege funds, was opened in the grounds i of the college at 1.30 p.m. to-day. t The forms of amusement were varied ' nnd numerous. A mock court, in par- j ticular, caused great amusement, and i added to the material success of the s function. - Features of the afternoon were a \ most interesting exhibition of basket- i ball, by girls of the Catholic schools, i and choruses by the choirs of the Marist * Brothers' schools. Races for boys and ] girls were followed by an interested i throng. During the afternoon the City 1 Brass Band of 30 instrumentalists sup- 1 plied music, and afternoon tea was sup- , plied by Children of Mary to the huge i crowd. ■ A source of revenue during the ' day were four stalls, in charge of Mrs. ' Dockham (jumble), Boys' Club (pro- ] duce), Miss Hickey (ice cream), Misses ; Dunns (flowers), and Punch and Judy I show, in charge of Miss Noreen Stewart. J The funds of the college should bene- , fit handsomely as a result. i
