JERICHO NOW IN BRITISH HANDS.

AUSTRALIAN MOUNTED FORCES CAPTURE THE TOWN. (Received 8.45 a.m.) LONDON, February 22. It is officially announced that the town of Jericho, 15 miles north-east of Jerusalem, has been captured by Sir Edmund Allenby's forces. The capture was effected by the Australian Mounted Division.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
