SUCCESSOR TO SOLOMON.
AMERICA'S CHOICE. LONDON, February 12. The "Weekly Dispatch" states that the Jews of Allied neutral countries are giving attentioii to the selection of a governing head fqr Palestine when autonomy is granted. The most favoured choice of the Jews in America is Judge Louis Brandeis. Mr. Louis Dembitz Brandeis, who is 61 years old, was born at Louisville, Kentucky. He was educated at Louisville Public School, Dresden, and Harvard. He was admitted to the Bar in 1870, and practised in Boston, where he was a member of the firm of Warren and Brandeis, and later head of the firm of Brandeis, Dunbar, and Nutter. Among other appointments he has held is that 'of chairman of the arbitration board in the New York Garment Workers' strike, 1910, and he was also chairman of the provisional committee for General Zionist Affairs. Mr. Brandeis is also a writer of articles, chiefly touching on Labour problems, among them being "Scientific Management of Labour Problems and Trusts," and "Wage Earners' Life Insurance."
