FAREWELL CONCERT.

At St. Benedict's Hall last evening, a ! large gathering assembled to hid good-bye to Mr BCany Hiscocts, who bas received an appointment as organist «f the Roman Catholic Cathedral, Chrlstcharch. A firstclass concert programme, prepared by Mr W. J. Pringle. proved highly successful. ■ Items were coutriboted by Miss Madoline i Knight. Mr SSnit&son. Mies Dist>n. Mr I Prfngie, Mr O'Malley, and members of St. | Benedict's Clxrtr. The Right Rev. Mon- ■ signer GiUan, in a neat spoKch, presented Mr Hiscocks with a handsome travelling rag. on behalf of the choir. Mr Hiscocks suitably responded expressing regret at having to loave so many genuine friends as Had assembled that evening. The parismoiiers of St. Benedict's arc also to make a presentation to Mr Hiscoeks. A pleasant evening was concluded by all singing "He's ■ a Jolly Good Fellow" and the National Anthem, with cheers.
