ATTACKED BY SWORDFISH.
MOTOR LAUNCH PIERCED. BEACHED TO STOP LEAK. ■'■ 'Bj- Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") RUSSELL, this daj. I;. The motor launch Virginia," owned by Colonel VT. H. Hazard," -was being used for kingfishing off Cape Brett, when one of tho«e on board hooked a swordfish y about lift long. The fish attacked the launch, and drove its sword through inch-thick kauri planking fcelow the waterline, close to the bow. The sword was broken off short, and is still in the boat, protruding nine inches inside theyplank. Colonel Hazard will not remove, the : ' sword until the launch reaches Auckland, probably next week.
