SYDNEY MAN BANKRUPT. SYDNEY, February 20. Giving evidence in the Bankruptcy Court to-<lfty. Harry Nathan, a. wellknown Sydney racehorse o\fnor end sportsman, attributed liis bankruptcy chiefly to contracts made before the war with * tho German Government to purchase bloodstock for stud purposes. Just before the war lift expended between £!>OOO and £10.000 in this way. but tho war prevented delivery. Failing to get the prices he had paid for the horses, he thought to make them pay by racing them but failed to do so. The purchases included a New Zealand horse, for which he paid £1600, and which lie sold to the German Government for £4500.— (A. and X.Z. Cable.)
