THE GALE ELSEWHERE.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) TE KUITI, this 'day* Heavy rain, and high iwind prevailed last night, bat no damage is reported. TE AROHA, this day. Last night's gale was accompanied by heavy rain, and rivers and creeks are in high flood, but very little damage is reported. The drainage contractors at the glaxo factory had their tent blown down, and the road contractors at Manawaru also had a similar misfortune. PAEROA, this day, -A. gale of great fury raged in Paeroa" and surrounding districts last evening, and continued for several hours. No damage is reported. ROTOKUA, this day. . £ 'A very strong ,north-easteilj- -wind a'jd heavy rain were experienced last night. No material damage is reported. . ..(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WHAKATAXE, this day. A : heavy easterly gale set in here last night, and telegraphic communication between Tauxanga and Whakatane .was interrupted. Exceptionally high tides and heavy seas this morning threatened the plant used to improve the harbour entrance, and heavy rain commenced falling.
