The first Auckland ■ Military Service Boaxd to-day complimented a family on its war record. The appeal of John F. McKenzie, carpenter, Grey Lynn, occasioned the comment. He stated that he -was the last remaining son of his ■n-idowed -mother, with -whom he lived. Jour of hie brothers went away. One, ■who -went -with the-Main Body, was killed in Gallipoli, and three were on active service, one for two years, the other for eighteen months, and the third for seven months.
