Marcel riutin believes that General Ludendorff s dream to impose peace before the ,, Americans get to work in France is to roll up both wings of the Anglo-French front under cover of a tremendous general offensive, and descend upon Paris from all sides through the defeated and demoralised Allied armies. A neutral who has just returned from Berlin believes that the Germans will attempt a triple offensive against Verdun, Calais and Italy, the Verdun blow being the chief. He believes that failure will lead to the collapse of the German war machine.
