ANNIVERSARY REGATTA. ADDITIONAL RACES. '. A meeting of the committee of the Anniversary Regatta whs held at the Royal New Zealand Va<-ht .Squadron rooms last crenlng, Mr J. B. Johnson presiding. As a result of the deputation to the Minister for Marine, the Government had offered the line of a vcrbpl as a flagship on the regatta day. A flagship committee was appointed, and it tvas decided to add gulling races for the crow of the vessel, races for Boy Scouts, nnri model yarhr races. It was reported that subscriptions were coming In freely, and the committee were receiving the support of the business people, so that the success of the rcgttttn was assured. The committee meet again to-morrow evening. HAMILTON REGATTA. The Hamilton Regatta -and Carnival will be held at Hamilton on Monday, 28th inst. (Anniversary Day). Mo programme Is a varied one, and comprises twelve rowing events, two motor-boat races and five swimming events. Entries Tor the rowing events close with the secretary. Mr B. Harris, llttiniltou. on Saturday, the 10th Inst., for the motor-boat moes on Saturday, the 26th lost., and for the swimming events at noon on thD day of the rjgatta. SWIMMING. Owing to the nbsenec of most ot the Auckland swimmers on holiday, the Vonsonby and Xormal Swimming Clubs have decided to postpone their January lIS carnival (which should have been held on AVednesday next) until February 13.
