A resolution •α-as passed oalline the Council's attention to xhe number of straying horses that are Allowed to wander rouiid the streets at night. The bad state of the foqtpatns, particularly Summer Street and tlie harbour side of CalUope Road, was the subject o£ much comment, anfl regret was expressed that the tarrlug and sanding had been so long delayed. The question of opening up the footpath to connect up Waterview Road with Kiwi Road is again to be urged on the Council. A vote of sympathy with the famliy of the Inte Mr Peter Kllis was feelingly proposed by Mr E. C. Shepherd, and carried by the members standing. ; i
