STANLEY BAY RATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION.
A -meeting of the Stanley Bay Katepayers' Association was belt! last night, Mr J. P. Kalaugher presiding. Park mattcrn were discussed at length; eventually It •■"■ as decided to ask th« members at «ib Joint committee belonging t, the Association to make a written application to the Mayor asking him to call a meeting of the committee this week, as valuable time was being lost. It was decided that the Association take an active Interest in the municipal bye-election, which takes place at the end of the MontiL, and candidates wiU be asked to express their views at a public meeting. A resolution •α-as passed oalline the Council's attention to xhe number of straying horses that are Allowed to wander rouiid the streets at night. The bad state of the foqtpatns, particularly Summer Street and tlie harbour side of CalUope Road, was the subject o£ much comment, anfl regret was expressed that the tarrlug and sanding had been so long delayed. The question of opening up the footpath to connect up Waterview Road with Kiwi Road is again to be urged on the Council. A vote of sympathy with the famliy of the Inte Mr Peter Kllis was feelingly proposed by Mr E. C. Shepherd, and carried by the members standing. ; i
