FIGHTING IN PORTUGUESE EAST AFRICA.

GERMAN RAIDING FGRCE AT WORK. (Received 12.15 pan.) LONDON, January 11. An official message from East Africa states that a small exhausted German force, short of food and ammunition, moved up the Lujenda Valley, in Portuguese territory, capturing small posts, and subsequently dispersing into raiding parties between Lake Nyassa and Port Amelia. British mounted troops followed them up the Lujenda Valley. Other columns co-operating with the Portuguese have landed at Port Amelia.—-(A. and N.Z. and Reuter.)
