An inquest was held thia morning by ■Iγ. P. v. Frazer, S.M., into the eircumr tances surrounding , the death of a male nfant. The infant was that of a eingle roman, who was brought from the counry to a. house at early on Thuralay morning last. Sho was attended by in unregistered practitioner, and the hild. was born the following morning. It vas somewhat weakly, and, died rather iuddehly on Sunday morning. A message iail been sent %o Dr. Horton late on Saturday, but through some mismderstanding was not delivered till Sunday morning, and when the doctorirrived the child 'was dead. . The doctor Qade a careful examination of the body, md expressed the opinion that the child lad been properly, and carefully looked ifter, and that its death was due to latural causes resulting from the chUd laving been bom somewhat prematurely, md being delicate because of the nother's prior ill-health. He reported he matter to the police, not because he iuspected foul play, but because he could lot give a valid death certicate ncing to hie not having seen the child luring its life. Dr. de Clive Lowe coroborated the testimony of Dr. Horton, md the coroner's finding was in accord.nee with the medical evidence.
