SOLDIERS' PARCELS.
■ m ~'< - - •• < * APPRECIATION PROAI THE.' RECIPIENTS. Every month tlie Auckland Women's Patriotic League forwards 36 parcels to the Jlesopotamiau Wireless Corps. That is one-quarter of the corps, the other three-quarters being looked after by the Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin ladies. The latest answers were received in September andj October, and are expressive of appreciation. These parcels are particularly packed, separately, for transmission through post in boxes, then sewn in strong calico. There is a special committee of the W.P.P.L. for this work, which is carried on with regularity month by month. Quite a number of post cards have been received expressing the thanks of the recipients of parcels, and each state how much the gifts were appreciated. One ends: '"Good old New Zealand." Another writes: "We may be downhearted at times, but never when an Auckland parcel comes." One mentions that the soap had melted on account of the intense heat, but adds the other articles were much, appreciated. 'Another writes: "It has been 126 deg. in the shade." One states: "It is impossible to purchase anything out here, excepting si an exorbitant price." One recipient -writes his thanks from India, and adds Hie was to return to Mesopotamia the next day. Another card from India reads: *rThe boys desire to return hearty thanks to the Auckland ladies, who have done Snore than any society in New Zealand to remind them that they are not forgotten ia the dear old Dominion, which they so jiirxiously long to see once more."
