WILL WIN BECAUSE THEY ARE AUDACIOUS. (Received 8.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, December 18. The New York "Sun's" Petrograd correspondent interviewed M. Trotzky, Eoreigu Minister, who said that the Bolsheviks were the sole powerful party -n- Russia. "We are absolutely masters, and will rule Russia as we like." He added: "Millions of peace decrees will be dropped on the German trenches, and distributed in England, France, and Italy. Kerensky was a coward. Tho Bolsheviks will win because they are audacious." There is no confirmation of the Bolshevik report of the arrest of General Kaledin.—-(A. and N.Z. Cable.) BOLSHEVIKS AGAIN DEFEATED IN ODESSA. LONDON, December 18. There was renewed fighting at Odessa yesterday between Ukraino and Bolshevik regiments. The Bolsheviks were defeated. N News from the south and Siberia indicates the extension of civil war. The banks in Petrograd are closed.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.) News from Japanese sources states.that Harbin, the population of which is largely Jewish, is entirely under Bolshevik control. Great disorder prevails. Brigands attacked the premises of important Japanese and other firms. The Allied Ministers at Peking decided to entrust the preservation of order "to Chinese troops, who are already on their way to the city.—(Reuter.) The "Morning Post's". Petrograd correspondent says that the Germans are commencing to flood Russia with their manufactures. Already trading has commenced on the fighting front, the Germans bartering manufactures for foodstuffs on a large scale.—(A., and N.Z. Cable.)
