HAS NICHOLAS ESCAPED?
LONDON, December 17. It _ reported from Petrograd that the deposed Czar has escaped. The story is officially denied by the Bolsheviks. The Petrograd correspondent of the "Daily Chronicle" states that the report is probably correct. The Bolshevik Government has dispatched 500 sailors to Siberia for the purpose of preventing Nicholas joining General Dutoff, who commands anti-Bolshevik troops at Orenburg, in South-Eastern Russia.—(A. and N.Z.
