TIRPITZ IS TALKATIVE.
PRUSSIAN VAUNTING. AMSTERDAM, December 17. Admiral Tirpits, speaking at Berlin, repudiated the idea of a conciliatory peace. Referring to the possible construction of a Channel tunnel, he said it would be necessary for Germany to retain Flanders, Antwerp, Ostcnd, Zeebrugge, and also take Calais and Boulogne. Germany would not part with Flanders, and must retain the French iron districts of Briey and Longwy as essential to her trade. Germany, he added, knew how to impose such conditions on- her enemies as would guarantee to her all the raw materials she now lacked. — (A. and and N.Z. Cable.)
