RED CROSS COMMITTEE MEETING.
« i A special meeting of the joint committee of the Rod Crocs was held tihis morning at eleven o'clock, ■when there was a full attendance of members present. Several matters of considerable importance were discussed. The appointment of six delegates to meet the annual conference, at Christchurch on February 6th was gone into, and tho following were appointed: The Mayoreae (Mrs Gunson), Miss Murray, Hon. G. Fowlds Messrs H. D. Roberteon, G. H. Wilson and P. H. Upton. The question of the functional treatment for discharged men in our hospitals in New Zealand was considered, and a sub-committee -was appointed to confer with the Auckland Patriotic Association in this matter with the idea of securing a complete expression of policy to enable the matter to be discussed at the conference in FebTuary next by the Auckland delegates. The appointment, of a treasurer was then gone into to succeed Mr G. W, Bows who has been the honorary treasurer since the inception of the johvt committee. This resulted in the appointment of Mr G. H. Wilson to fill the vacancy. A resolution of thanks, proposed by the chairman, was unanimously carried by -the meeting as an acknowledgment of tho valuable services rendered to the committee by the retiring treasurer. The meeting concluded with tho compliments of tho season, as it is the last occasion on which the committee will meet before Christmas.
