LOCAL ATTACKS ON WEST FRONT.
GUNS ACTIVE AT MANY POINTS, (Received 1.15 p.m.) LONDON, December Iβ. Sir Douglas Haig reports: —We completely repulsed a local attack Westward of Bullecourt. We made a successful raid northward of Bullecourt. ■Local fighting in the neighbourhood of Poldershoek Chateau caused no change 111 the situation thereabouts. There is considerable artillery activity in the ne >ght)ourhood of Hardcourt and Flesquieres, north-west of St. Quentin, between GavreUe and Lens, to the north-east of Arraa and at Passchendaele. ■i French communique states: —A German attack was repulsed in Chaume Wood.— (A. and N.Z. and Reuter.)
